Zechariah 3

Zechariah 3:1-10

Vision: Clean garments for Joshua the high priest.

Summary: Joshua the priest is seen, but he is wearing filthy clothes, and satan, the accuser is accusing him before God.  The Lord rebukes satan, and gives him clean clothes.  Joshua is considered the high priest, but the BRANCH (Christ Jesus) is coming.  If they remain faithful, they will govern God’s house.  A stone with seven eyes, indicative of Christ and possibly Daniel 2:44, is set before Him, with the seven eyes, the seven-fold spirit of God.

Explanation: The people will be made holy, symbolized by the high priest, who bore the sins of the people.  If they would walk faithfully, they would receive the BRANCH, Jesus, as their Messiah, and would enter into life and peace.  The governing of the house was fulfilled by the apostles, who will sit on twelve thrones judging the house of Israel.  The stone was Christ.
