Zechariah 12

Zechariah 12:1-12

Vision:  The future salvation of Israel.

Summary:  God will defend Israel when all the nations gather against her.  In that day, they will see Jesus, recognize Him, mourn for Him, and receive salvation.

Explanation: This must correlate to the prophecy given in Ezekiel 39, where God no longer hides His face, and pours our His Spirit upon them in salvation.  Additionally, this would correspond to our day, since the people have been regathered into one body, but are yet dead, having no life or Spirit within (Ezekiel 37, the dry bones).  The bones are regathered, and they are one body, speaking one language, but, as yet, they remain dead in their transgressions and sins, unsaved, and damned.  Enemies as far as the Gospel is concerned.  Only the breath, the Spirit, can enliven their bodies.
