Ezekiel 37

Ezekiel 37:1-14

Vision: The Valley of Dry Bones

Summary: Ezekiel sees a valley of dried bones scattered.  He prophesies once and they come together, bone to bone, and take on flesh, but they are still dead.  He prophesies again, and the Spirit comes into them, and they are alive.

Probable Explanation:  In 1948, Israel was reestablished as a nation, and this corresponded to the largest prophetic movement in the church since nearly its inception.  Replete with immaturity, doctrinal error, and abuses, it was nevertheless the greatest awakening to the realm of the Spirit and His operation in the church ever, outside of Christ Himself, of course.  Israel, the dry bones, were regathered from every nation to form one new nation, even the modern state, but they are still dead.  While they have flesh and tendons, they are dead in their transgressions and sins, damned according to the Gospel, and cut off from the life of God due to the hardness of their hearts due to the ignorance that is in them.  They are enemies of God.

Yet, God was not finished.  He commanded Ezekiel to prophesy again, this time to the wind, the Spirit, to come into the people.  This signifies a coming second wave of the prophetic movement.  This time, Israel will be born again, in accordance to Zechariah 13-14, Joel 3, Revelation 20:7-10, and Ezekiel 39:28-29.  This is also what is indicated in the New Testament passages of Acts 1:6-7 and Romans 11:25-26.

But, we should be aware.  The last prophetic movement was ushered in on the back of WWII, in which some 50 million died.  Zechariah 13 indicates that two-thirds of those in the land of Israel will be struck down in this coming move, and the remaining third will be purged.  God will be bringing the second wave of Ezekiel 37, the restoration of His face, to the people of Israel, but it will be accompanied by WWIII.  There will be some nuclear exchange.  The face of America will change.  The late prophet William Branham said in a vision he heard and explosion and looked across America, and saw only a smoking crater and no life visible.  The final outpouring and rescue of Israel will be ushered in with some of the greatest shaking this world has ever known, as the events of the Gog Magog war of Revelation 20:7-10 take place.

All nations, respectively, will gather around Israel to overcome it, and God will roar from Zion, Joel 3:16, and rescue Israel, Ezekiel 39:6.  God will deliver Israel, and His sanctuary will be among them forever, Ezekiel 37:26-28.

Ezekiel 37:15-28

Vision:  One Nation Under One King

Summary:  The people of Israel will be one nation under one King.  The two staffs, Judah and Israel, are to be joined together, and God’s sanctuary will be with His people forever.

Explanation: A coming time of complete restoration.   This is also a seen in the “one new man” of Jew and Gentile being united, but the literal fulfillment of this is not seen, as in that Israel has not been united as one nation while having a king.  This speaks again of their eventual salvation as a nation, as per above, since God heals their backsliding through the indwelling Holy Spirit as they are saved, and born again, and brought out of darkness and delivered into the Kingdom of God.  Hence, David in this picture clearly refers to Christ, and the time between the Gog Magog war and the second coming in Revelation 20 is the time of this reign.  Indeed, many things that people ascribe to the Millennium of Revelation 20, which is past in the “middle ages”, will actually fall in this period, between Revelation 20:10 and Revelation 20:11.
