The Throne Scene

As I looked, thrones were set in place,  and the Ancient of Days took his seat. His clothing as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze.

Daniel 7:9

Some commentators have felt a need to equate this scene to the other throne-related passages.  This, however, is not necessary, nor a foregone conclusion.  It is established that God has a throne, and that He is active in His Kingdom.  As such, any king would routinely sit in court, pass decrees, and adjudicate matters.

A king that sitteth in the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes.

Proverbs 20:8

Without further reason why, there is no more need to connect together as the same event every time we see the Lord on His throne, any more than we would do so in the life of David on his throne.
